My Engineering and Architecture Experience
I've always loved to draw, and I have been curious about design for a while. I can remember driving through Detroit with my family, and looking out at the art deco and revival architecture all over town.
I've also always liked vintage design in general. My grandpa and uncle are excellent mechanical engineers, so I suppose all those factors led me to register for Drafting and Design for 9th grade.
I don't always like using computers to do things that can be done by hand, but I really started to love using AutoCAD. I can see myself in architecture or engineering as a career, allowing me to use the skills that I learned here in a technical field.
So far in the class, I have liked the architectural blueprints the best. I loved doing the orthographic views by hand, then inputting them and completing them in AutoCAD. My favorite project was the architecture house.
Even though I'm not a computer person, I was really excited to learn all about AutoCAD, especially the small drawings out of the textbook.
